Spring Bears & Whales Tour

Spring is here–and so are the bears! Join us on our early bird SPRING BEARS AND WHALES TOUR to take in the varied sights of spring: hungry black bears emerging from hibernation, majestic whales migrating home, flocks of birds still sporting their winter plumage, and massive sea lions.
As the rainforest wakes from its winter slumber and the sun yawns over the milky clouds, nowhere comes closer to heaven on earth than springtime on the Salish Sea.
April through June is a special time for guided wilderness tours on the British Columbia coast – black bears (mɛxaɬ) crowd the rocky beaches to replenish fat stores in preparation for breeding, humpback whales migrate back home from their tropical breeding grounds, while transient killer whales hang around and enjoy seafood feasts.
The Homalco people, also known as the “people of the fast-running waters,” have been stewards of these lands and waters since time immemorial. We invite you to see the cyclical beauty and secret richness of springtime through our eyes.
Trip Time: Approximately 7 hours
Restrictions: The minimum age is 4 years old (all passengers 4 to 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult 19+).

Homalco Wildlife & Cultural Tours Office is located at 1003B Island Highway, Campbell River, BC, at the Coast Marina near downtown, next door to the BC Ferries Terminal to Quadra Island.
Free parking is available across the street in the Tyee Plaza Shopping Centre parking lot. See the parking and marina access map.

Our tours operate on a minimum number of 6 guests. While we want everyone to enjoy this amazing experience, sometimes, minimum numbers are not reached. If that happens, we will offer to rebook you on another date or book you onto another tour with one of our tour partners or a different tour provider to provide you with a full refund.
